Alex is an Occupational Health Manager at a large NHS Trust. She is tasked with developing a staff wellbeing programme that supports healthier lifestyles.
While researching for support tools, Alex finds the behaviour change development framework which provides tools and resources to support the workforce to be trained at the appropriate level of behaviour change and enable people to make positive changes.
Alex becomes very interested in the framework, specifically from a staff health and wellbeing perspective.

She takes some time to explore the behaviour change competencies, e-learning, assessment tool and the toolkits and begins put a plan together.

Alex decides to use the competencies and e-learning for Behaviour Change Level 1 (BC1) for her non-clinical staff and BC2 for her clinical staff.

She works with the learning and development team to offer staff a package of e-learning and MECC training that will enable them to support staff wellbeing.

Alongside this Alex uses the toolkits to help design wellbeing activities that are underpinned by behaviour change.
Over several months Alex begins to see an increase in participation to wellbeing activities and staff report feeling more supported on their wellbeing. Alex shares the outcomes at a regional occupational health network and encourages others to explore the BCDF.
