Rob works in the population health team in an ICB and has been asked to design a behaviour change training programme for newly recruited social prescribing link workers working with the primary care networks.
Rob sees a post on social media about the BCDF and clicks on the link. He browses the competencies and what is required for each level.

He reviews the competencies and identifies that the Behaviour Change Level 2 (BC2) competencies fit well with what the social prescribers require.
Rob then uses the BC2 competencies to write a training specification for skills-based training in behaviour change.
Rob is able to get a business case approved from the ICB to commission a training provider to deliver a 2-day BC2 training for the social prescribing team.
The training is well attended by the social prescribers.
On completion of the training Rob completes an evaluation where the social prescribers report an increase in their skills, knowledge and confidence to deliver behaviour change support to their local communities.
Rob goes back to the BCDF to see what else is available and browses the learning resources that are mapped to BC2 and creates a self-directed learning plan for the social prescribers to use as ongoing CPD.
