Simon is a lecturer for the Nursing and Allied Health programme at a local University.
He realises that his students lack confidence in supporting patients to change health behaviours.

Whilst researching for teaching resources he finds the behaviour change development framework which offers tools and resources to build behaviour change capability.

He explores the behaviour change development framework and comes across the behaviour change competencies.
Simon is pleased to see that the knowledge and competencies can easily be translated into learning outcomes and begins to use these to develop teaching materials.
Simon includes some of the e-learning modules that the BCDF has mapped to the competencies to enhance student’s learning.
A few weeks later Simon delivers a lecture on behaviour change skills to the students, who report an increase in their knowledge and understanding.
Simon plans to collect evaluation feedback on the new course content with the aim to expand the content next year to his colleagues through peer teaching sessions.
