The British Psychological Society Standards and Guidelines

The British Psychological Society provides the standards and guidelines on a range of topics including:

  • Code of Ethics and Conduct.
  • Supplementary Guidance on the use of social media.
  • BPS Code of Human Research Ethics.

The Code of Ethics and Conduct provides a useful starting point for ethical guidance for delivering individual-level behaviour change interventions. The code is centred around four principles, each addressed by a statement of key values and a set of standards.

This resource will help you learn about what ethical considerations you may need to make when supporting someone around individual-level behaviour change.
